This patched fabric is a distinct tapestry of strength in about 50 designs of woven fabrics from Southwestern Nigeria, popularly referred to as Aso Oke by the Yoruba people of Nigeria. This fabric is a very rich mix of afrocentric expressions carrying a history of how weaving as a form of textile has evolved over years and decades; a true representation of traditional craftsmanship
About 50 patterns of Aso Oke were curated for each of this piece and some of the patterns are over 50 years old. No two pieces bought are the same!
This fabric is ethically produced and made with more than 50 hands. It is sturdy and can be used over and over again when made into any piece. It has the ability to take on stress that normal fabrics would usually not take.
