BLK 032 Pink Batiks Adire Fabric

These batik fabrics have been dyed with a rich shade of pink after the wax application.

The Yoruba tribe calls batik dyeing Adire Alabela, which means wax resist. The wax can be applied to the fabric using wood stamps, stencils, or foam rubber. Adire Alabela production started in the 1960s. Its dye resist is candle wax melting to liquid on fire.

We create our Adire Alabela by using foam pencil to draw designs or by using a foam stamp to place designs on the fabric.
