Kanuri is a tribe in Borno state located in the northern part of Nigeria. Kanuri language is well spoken in Borno and the Kanuri people still practise their culture of wearing dongashoo, mandil, plaiting of hair known as klayakku, wearing murzan, asal, raka, and bugai. Painting their legs with lalle is common and spraying perfume known as santal.
